Albertson’s is a local grocer, is less than one mile away from The CW Television Network. I spoke with their General Manager on Thursday, July 3, 2014, and her assistant and successfully negotiated a deal to purchase 1,822 packages of dried spaghetti noodles through their store. They, in turn, will handle delivery to The CW, free of charge.
As you can imagine, this came as quite a shock, and we were even happier to find that they were more than willing to help us arrange delivery to a local Temporary Aid Center.
Unfortunately, we have already made arrangements with the LA Food Bank, but their eagerness to support us in our fight, has earned them some Stargazer love.
Now, onto the LA Food Bank. They are all ready and set to help us get this delivery going. They are willing to work with us, the press, etc, and even offered to pick up the delivery from The CW. Yet another load off our backs.
And another positive, Doug Kolk, with KTLA, would like to cover the delivery story. We are currently working out the logistics with him and can’t wait to see what he comes up with.
The current status, as of Saturday July 5, 2014, is we are waiting for the spaghetti to be delivered and verified at Albertson’s. Once they have done this, we can move forward and schedule delivery to The CW.
